EPC Privacy
Every Penny Counts (EPC) is strongly committed to protecting the privacy of its members: individuals, nonprofits, and service providers. Throughout cyberspace and in the real world, we want to contribute to providing a safe and secure environment for all of our members.
This privacy policy applies to all services conducted by the Every Penny Counts Network on the Internet, in stores at the point of sale, with nonprofits, with card issuers, and with banks.
The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to inform all EPC members how we treat the information we may gather about them when you use or visit
www.everypennycounts.com. The policy will detail how we may use that information, whether we disclose it to anyone, and the choices you have regarding our use of, and your ability to correct the information.
The most important and basic fact is: EPC will not offer any information about you to any outside company or individual unless we receive your prior consent.
So that we can provide you with the most efficient and enhanced service, we request information about you. Since your privacy as a participant in the EPC Internet site is a priority to us, we have provided this detailed policy statement about our privacy and information dissemination practices for our network of related sites.

EPC Privacy Policy Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes here so that you will always know what information we gather, how we might use that information, and whether we will disclose it to anyone.
Selection of EPC Products
Credit Card and Checking Account Products -
When EPC Members are asked for information about their credit
card or checking account, we only ask for the name of the issuing bank or
card issuer. We only use this information to contact the service provider
and indicate that the member has interest in using the EPC product.
WE NEVER ASK FOR CREDIT OR CHECKING ACCOUNT NUMBERS OR EXPIRATION DATES, ETC.
When an Individual Member is ready to begin using a EPC credit card or checking account product, they will be escorted to a secure site operated by the service provider.
Store Loyalty Card Numbers - However, when EPC Members enroll in AutoGive, CharityCoins, and/or
CouponShare -
EPC will need to know their store loyalty card number. The aforementioned
products are designed to track and transfer donations or rebates to the
nonprofits selected by Individual Members. The products were not designed
for Members to make deposits to a personal account. Therefore, it is safe
for EPC to know the Member’s store loyalty card number.
Uses Of Registration Information
When Members, Merchants, Banks, and Nonprofits join EPC, we ask for pertinent identification information so that we may properly provide the requested service(s). Once this information is provided to EPC, we will cherish and protect it. In the future, in order to make this information and updated reports available to only you, the original registrant, EPC will provide you with a user name and a password.
Information We Gather Or Track
In general, our service automatically gathers certain usage information like the numbers and frequency of visitors to EPC and its areas, very much like television ratings that tell the networks how many people tuned into a program. We only use such data in the aggregate. This collective data helps us determine how much our customers use parts of the site, so we can improve our site to assure that it is as appealing as we can make it for as many of you as possible. For example, we use a technology known as "cookies" that tells us how and when pages in our site are visited, and by how many people. EPC cookies do not collect personally identifiable information and we do not combine information collected through cookies with other personally identifiable information to tell us who you are or even what your screen name or email address is. We also may provide statistical "ratings" information, never information about you personally, to our EPC service providers about how our members, collectively, use EPC. We do this so they too can understand how much people use their areas and our site in order for them to provide you with the best possible Web experience as well.
Disclosure
We do not use or disclose information about your individual visits to EPC or information that you may give us such as your name, address, email address or telephone number, to any outside companies. But as we mentioned above, we may share with our Web site partners aggregated statistical "ratings" information about the use of EPC. Information on general usage and any optional personal details you provide to us will be used to provide you with enhanced features such as customized content, access to our bulletin boards, participation in chats, and the ability to participate in any of our communities.
We may ask you for information about your interests so that both you and we can take advantage of the interactivity of the online medium, but you may always choose to respond or not.
The following are details of the information we collect: EPC collects data so that we may display personalized content to our visitors. Additionally, usage information may be analyzed, so that we can judge our system's performance or execute your customized features.
Your computer reaches us via a particular Internet Protocol address. This can tell us things like what from part of the world you're connecting or what service provider you are using.
Your browser offers "cookies" which, if you allow their use, store small amounts of data on your computer about your visit to any of our sites. Cookies assist us in tracking which of our features you like best. When you revisit our site, cookies can enable us to customize our content according to your preferences. However, cookies tell us nothing about you personally unless you specifically give us additional information.
Our registration form asks for contact and demographic information used to send news about our products or promotional material from our partners. You will also be able to opt-out of receiving any mailings. Demographic information may be used to customize the display of your EPC Account by showing content that we think might be of interest or related to your past visits.
Surveys may ask for contact information or unique identifying information to increase the value of the results. Contests may require contact information or other demographic/personal information in order to determine your eligibility.
What We Do With Collected Information
We sometimes use provided information to personalize features based upon your preferences.
From time to time we may extend various offers through our partner companies. These may include news or additional details on their products and services. Your personal preferences or usage history may result in your being offered special screens or products. These offers would be sent via EPC and your personal information is not shared with entities outside of EPC.
We'll use your email contact information to provide you with newsletters to which you subscribe, or for similar information we think you may find of interest. However, you can choose to opt out of these mailings.
Who Can Use Collected Information and How
Please be aware that if you voluntarily disclose information online, personal or otherwise, that information can be collected and used by others. For example, using chat, bulletin boards, or your email, if you post personal information online you may receive unsolicited messages from others. EPC has no means to control this.
Limiting Employee Access to Information
We have procedures and security levels that limit employee access to personally identifiable information to those employees with a business reason to know such information about you. We educate our employees about the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy through standard operating procedures, special training programs, and the EPC Code of Ethics. We take appropriate disciplinary measures to enforce employee privacy responsibilities.
